As anyone with impeccable taste will tell you, Herschel Supply Company makes some of the best (and best-looking) backpacks, bags, travel goods and accessories on the market. Though only started a few years ago, this Vancouver-based company has come out swinging, winning the hearts and minds of discerning people the world over. We're thrilled to be assisting their team with sourcing and licensing music for use in promotional videos. Our first collaboration, featuring L.A. Girlfriend's "Runner", is above. Welcome to BForB, HSC!
Our friends at category killer ski/snowboard goggle, helmet and accessories brand anon. Optics have been relying on BrandsForBands for music for some time now. By lauching an opportunity for them today we're making it even easier for them to get affordable, pre-licensed music, and for our valued music partners to get their music licensed for awesome anon. web videos like the one above featuring OE's "Hollow Stone" (sourced from BForB a few weeks back).
If you haven't checked out anon.'s gorgeous products yet, now's the time (and we mean NOW - it's winter, people!). Meanwhile, we look forward to working more with their team. Welcome, guys!
Simply put, Volcom is a titan of the action sports industry, a brand born and raised in SoCal that's risen to prominence via great products and an uncanny ability to capture the zeitgeist.. We're thrilled to be working with their mens and womens teams to source and license music for promotional videos (and perhaps some other stuff - stay tuned). Welcome aboard, guys!
At this year's Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas we made the acquaintance of Scosche Industries, a great California-based company that's been producing high quality car audio and consumer tech products (like the boomBOTTLE portable speaker above) for 35 years. We're excited to help them source and license music for inclusion in their product demonstration kiosks at retail. Welcome, Team Scosche!
As loyal customers, we're really excited to be working with Stance, a sock company for the 21st century, and one of the coolest lifestyle brands to emerge from Southern California in a long, long time.
Founded several years ago by veterans of the action sports industry, Stance is a new breed of sock company, combining inspired, often irreverent design with high-quality materials (trust us, they're awesome). These ain't your father's socks. Here's a little about Stance, in their own words:
"STANCE is dedicated to the spirit of individuality with a design philosophy that believes in expression and function. Expression that creates an emotional visual connection and function that also provides comfort and performance. Building outstanding socks with the best fit and performance characteristics from the highest quality materials is the unspoken priority. The outward facing personality of the brand and our products are the creative and artistic stories that go into every single sock we make. Designed in San Clemente, California - worn everywhere."
We've been working with outdoor apparel giant Columbia Sportswear since last year, and we're thrilled to now launch an opportunity for them in BForB. With winter upon us, their editors will be needing some excellent tuneage for web videos and other projects. Welcome aboard, Team Columbia!
We're excited to welcome outdoor apparel brand Smartwool to BrandsForBands, just in time for winter. They're excited to use BForB to source music for their promo videos. In fact, they've already started: here's a recent clip featuring Cardboard Kids. Any company whose products are "inspired by living and playing in the mountains" is alright with us. Welcome, Smartwool!
As bigtime cycling enthusiasts ourselves, we'd like to extend a hearty high-five and welcome to DK Bikes and Airborne Bikes, two of the world's premier BMX and mountain bike brands, respectively. Their editors are excited to tap BForB's artist community for great tunes to feature in promotional videos. And us? We're stoked to see more fantastic feats on two wheels. Bring it!
A huge part of our mission as a company is to foster mutually beneficial relationships between artists and brands. The old "win-win", if you will. And while we're engaged in this pursuit daily, we occasionally like to spotlight extraordinary examples of the kind of musical symbiosis we strive for. So we bring you this video from our friends at Acacia Swimwear in Hawaii. They came to us looking for just the right song for their 2015 brand video and we pitched them "Promise Not To Fall" by HIPS, an oustanding trio from San Francisco, and a recent addition to BrandsForBands. You can see the sublime results below.
So let's recap: Acacia gets an awesome, affordable song from a cool, emerging artist. HIPS gets some cash and an introduction to Acacia's audience of music-loving young women. Like we said: win-win. This is what we do.
We're really excited that four artists from BrandsForBands - Mt. Warning, The Builders & The Butchers, Jeremy Irons & the Ratgang Malibus and Damned Anthem - made it into "Days of My Youth", the new, highly-anticipated (and totally gorgeous) ski film from the crew at award-winning action sports production company MSP Films (in conjunction with Red Bull Media House). MSP says, "The film lays out the joys and struggles of shredding in the big mountain arena, and showcases the delight of childlike discovery that skiing can offer as more than just a form of recreation, but as a way of life." Peep the trailer below, then check out the film - it's truly awesome.
